Workbook Protection

Workbook Protection is used to add a password to the workbook.

Example:

Case 1: Let's take a sheet into consideration and add a password to it.

1. Go to the SheetKraft Ribbon, then go to export and then select the Export Sheets as shown in the figure.

2. A dialog box will appear. Select the destination file name and check in the "save with password" box. This will let you type the required password.

3. When you will open the exported file, excel will prompt for the password to open the file.

Case 2: Protecting a specific sheet of the workbook.

1. Go to the SheetKraft Ribbon, then go to export and then select the Export Sheets as shown in the figure.

2. Select the destination file name and select the sheet that contains the data. Write the password in the protect tab and run the book.

3. When you open the sheet, a pop up appears saying the sheet is protected and you need to unprotect it in order to edit the data.

4. Go to the sheet menu and right click on it and select "unprotect sheet" and type the password.

Case 3: Using Export to Excel to protect the sheet.

1. Go to the SheetKraft Ribbon, then go to export and then select the Export to Excel as shown in the figure.

2. Select the data that is to be exported and select the destination of export. Write the password in the tab and run the book.

3. Open the workbook and check whether the sheet is protected or not. A pop up will appear saying the sheet is protected and requires to unprotect the sheet in order to edit the data.

4. Go to the sheet menu and right click on it and select "unprotect sheet" and type the password.
